Recently, the family visits have been more intense. My belly is getting bigger, and I’m closer to my due date. It is all becoming surreal, that I would have a mini me, running around the house, fighting for my attention.

However, this is going to be the first mix blooded baby on my maternal relatives side, and it seems like everyone is referring to my bum as “that Ang Mo baby”.
I mean, I feel fine for my child to be refered as an “Ang mo” casually in daily talk, but when it is being pin pointed as “THE” Ang mo baby, I started to feel abit uncomfortable.
My baby girl, actively kicking in my tummy, is going to be born half Singaporean and half Scottish. She is going be as Singaporean as she is Scottish. I know singaporeans are often insensitive to such remarks, often giving a racial group a nickname for association. Often, they mean it as a tease, to praise that my child will have such unique features like no other child in the family due to her mixed heritage.
However, I remember as a child all I wanted to be is part of the family, a group, just like everyone else. Is it fair to make a child question her/his identity because such differences are pointed out at such a young age?
I once had a relative say to her own child about my husband, “look at that Ang mo? Weird looking anot?”
And although the tone did not mean any harm, the reality that it was ok to say another race was weird looking to a baby, was worrying.

And so I am really in my 3rd Trimester. Baby stuff is all prepared, and the nursery is close to competition! My hands are actually itching to assemble most of the big items already, and packing my hospital bag, although most people would say it is still too early!

Pregnancy Symtoms
My pelvis is starting to feel really heavy, even standing up is like doing a deadlift at the gym.
Who knew there was such a thing as lightning crotch? This actually means baby is stretching towards my vagina.
Having a hard time staying away and work and pretending I give a damn about anything 😥😥.
Nausea has definitely returned, and cravings for sweet things is driving me nuts!
Yumyums. Someone bring me yumyums, NOW.
Pressure pushing against my lungs at night? What are ya doing in there ya wee Lassie? 🤔
Loose Bowel Movements. I cannot stop shitting. I have so much crap coming out of me the toilet has become my second home.
Work toilet airfreshener makes me sick.
CRAMPS? BRAXTON HICKS? WHO KNOWS!?!?
Despite the cramps, I am still not experiencing any contractions which is a relief. Although, a few nights ago while I was sleeping soundly (this rarely happens now), my husband shook me awake screaming "baby!! Are you ok?? Are you having contractions?!?" 😑😑 Dammit man, my beauty sleep!

Skin tags, tight dresses, sweaty palms are the few symtoms of pregnancy. The few until attractive sides of pregnancy.
As your body prepares for the birth of your baby, you put on the weight, bras get tighter, so does most of your clothes. You don't want to keep buying new clothes for your growing belly, because you are only going to be in it for freaking 9 months!! I smelled all the time, and my bra was about to burst open. I started developing skin tags. YES SKIN TAGS. Most of the fall of after a few days but seriously walking around with multiple nipples on your body infront of your husband isn't a pretty sight.
Then I see my mummy's chat group talk about the Uniqlo Airism collection, and the variety of bra dresses.

I didn't see how they would have helped me. They said that it's good for breast feeding because you can pull the top down easily without damaging it, and you can continue to wear it as a basic top after pregnancy.
OH. MY. GOSH. My boobs can finally breathe. Not only does it gives me more room in my chest, it still holds my growing boosem in place perfectly. The material of the shirt is so airy and absorbs my sweat very easily I do not feel sticky throughout the day!
So I invested in their bra dresses! I wanted to find a way to not wear my maternity pants too often since I'm so lazy to buy more HA.

I'm so happy now I'm so tempted to buy more!!! Honestly I think all maternity fashion designers should give up now. Uniqlo has made the ultimate maternity wear!! Fashionable, lasting and you don't have to put it away and still wear them after you give birth!
